This summer Lummi Nation School District allowed us to host two separate Lummi teacher days! This teacher day was offered to Middle and elementary school teachers. It was a rainy day but we all made the best of it! Everyone geared up in rain jackets and boots and got out there with their horses to tackle an obstacle together. We had a great day and hope that everyone felt like they walked away feeling a little lighter.

We had the amazing opportunity to host High School teachers from Lummi Nation School District for a day of rest and renewal at the farm. Teachers had the opportunity to work through obstacles with a horse, learn about essential oils and wellness practices and were able to release something they might have learned about themselves that day, into a smokey fire. It was a beautiful event filled with joy and support, we really felt like people got a moment to reflect and appreciate themselves for all of their hard work after a few challenging years of school during COVID.

This was an opportunity for social connection, to learn about hope theory and self-regulation, and to participate in some fun activities. We had some group experiential learning activities with horses.
